Wedding Cake
Brooch, cakes, Cavite, celebration, Classic, custom, Feathers, Fernbrook Gardens, Fondant, Frills, Norie's Kitchen, Pearls, Portofino, Wedding
I usually create birthday cakes for kids and I love doing that because I love seeing the look of the kids when they see their birthday cakes for the first time. But when I get to make a wedding cake, I get excited because I get to explore a different side of my creativity. What I love about wedding cakes is that these cakes are the superstars of the reception second to the bride and groom that is. And I think of it as an honor that my cake be chosen for their special day.
For this cake, the couple wanted an elegant design with accented with feathers and pearls. Since this cake is monochromatic, instead of using color to liven up the design I used texture. The design alternates textured cake layers with those accented by pearls that I set on a fondant cutout that I handpainted with edible silver powder to make it look like it’s brooch. The top layer looks like its a headpiece with fondant flowers accented by the white feathers.

Wedding Cake
cakes, Cavite, celebration, custom, Enderun College, Fondant, Norie's Kitchen, Rainbow, Skittles, Taguig, Wedding
This cake was made to look like it was covered it Skittles. I love how colorful this cake is and how it challenged my color mixing since I had to recreate every color of the rainbow for this cake. So since it was supposed to look like it was covered in candy, I had to make a lot and I mean a LOT of small circles of fondant and stick them individually to the cake. While making this cake I remembered the style of painting called “Pointilism” wherein the painting wasn’t completed using brushstrokes but by small colored dots on the canvas. Well this is my version of pointilism on a cake. =D.

Shoes are usually the jurisdiction of girls but that apparently has changed. Even guys are now into shoes but usually guys are into shoes that are related to the sports they love. In this case Mike is into basketball and maybe his favorite are the “Kobe VII Del Sol”. That’s the model of the shoe on top of his birthday cake.

Character Cakes

Most ball cakes that I made are basketball cakes which is not unusual since we Filipinos are so in-love with the game. But a new game is now catching up which is football or soccer whichever you choose to call it. I would like to thank Annalyn for ordering another cake from us. You see “Nacrol” is the eldest brother of the Lanse (see Pororo Cake 17).

I love surprises. And this cake was a surprise for Julie on her birthday and what’s more romantic than a birthday surprise is a secret admirer =D. The one who ordered this for her doesn’t want her to who he is. I wonder if she already figured it out by now.
