Out of the cakes I made, this belongs to my favorites. I “loooovvveee” Peanuts characters, so when Evan’s mom requested me to make a cake based on the iPad game Snoopy’s Street Fair I was psyched! Since the Peanuts characters are in a 2-dimensional medium, the challenge was how to interpret them in 3D. So when I finished making woodstock, I immediately posted the picture on the Norie’s Kitchen page.

On the top of the cake I created a red doghouse and top of it are Snoopy and his friend Woodstock. Alongside the doghouse is Charlie Brown. Then I used the same font as that of the Snoopy’s Street Fair logo to write Evan’s name. Then on the bottom layer of the cake, I made the stalls in the Street Fair game out of fondant cut-outs. I then used an edible marker to mark the outline of the fondant cut-outs to make it look like it was drawn.

Also this cake was ordered with cupcakes with the Peanuts characters as the toppers.

My first Angry Birds Space Cake. I based my design of this cakes on the first two levels of the game. The bottom layer is based on the Pig Bang level and the top Layer is based on the Cold Cuts level. The bottom layer features a cratered texture which made it look like the moon surface. The top layer has snowflakes and I added a layer of fondant snow on top to add to the Cold Cuts theme. Then I created Angry Birds Space and Pigs out of gumpaste.

For the 43rd version of my Angry Birds cake, I made a 2 layer cake. This is my first time to make a 2-layer Angry Birds Cake.

Norie’s Kitchen – Angry Birds and Plants vs Zombies Cake

I was thinking of what to name this cake for the longest time. This cake is both my 42nd Angry Birds cake and also my 18th Plants vs Zombies cake. Patrick Joseph’s dad requested me to make a cake that would combine his son’s favorite games. It helped that he ordered a big cake this gave me a bigger “canvas” to work on.

For this cake, the story is that the Pigs called on the Zombies to help them get the Angry Birds eggs. That’s why you can see a zombie holding an egg on the right side of the cake. We can also see that a conehead pig beside the candle. I also included a zombie with a pig’s head climbing to join the King Pig on top of the structure.

It would be natural then for the birds to employ the help of the Plants. On the left side of the cake a Cherry Bomb is being launched on the slingshot. Blue Birds are being shot out of a Peashooter.
