This is the 2nd time I made a Mario Kart Cake. The first time was for my son’s birthday. This cake is bigger than that and the additional space allowed me to include Yoshi and King Boo.

My 2nd version of The Cars Cake is a 2 layer cake which I made for the Alfred Louis’ 2nd Birthday. Now that is a lot of “two” mentioned in that last sentence.

For this cake, Weng, Alfred’s mom, requested that I include Fred, Luigi, and Sally. I didn’t remember who Fred was while I was making the cake toppers, so I just made Doc Hudson instead. Good thing Weng reminded me that Fred was the one who looked liked Mater and was the rusty car at the Rusteze tent.

Finally, I get to make a Cars themed cake. The Cars Movie was my son’s favoritemovie when he was around 2 years old and I almost memorized all the dialog on the movie due to the number of times I had to watch this with him. Well all that repetition may have helped me to make this cake, not to mention all the Cars toys he have lying around the house.

Here is a close-up view of the cake toppers. All of the cake toppers are edible by the way. On this shot, you can see the level of detail that I did for the characters (specially Lightning McQueen). On Lightning McQueen, I manually cut the Rusteze logo and hand-painted the number 95 on his roof.

This is the cake I made last week for a very important client. It was for my eldest son’s 5th birthday. This is his favorite game on his Wii and DSi. Initially he was asking me to make him a Phineas and Ferb cake but he changed his mind to this. Until now, a week after his birthday, the cake toppers are still on our dining room table because he doesn’t want to eat them. Also, the red velvet cake I made for this cake was yummy.
